NOTRE DAME HS SENIOR SIGNS FOR 2022 RCNJ SEASON

Real Central NJ Soccer today announced the signing of Kyle Allen for the 2022 season, pending league and federation approval. The 17-year-old will be attending Ramapo College of New Jersey after graduating this June. Allen was a co-captian of the 2021 RCNJ U-17 USL Academy Cup team and becomes the first RCNJ youth player to join the USL2 squad.

“Kyle performed well at tryouts,” said head coach Brian Woods. “We’re looking to bring in the very best, and that means that we could have some more high school players come in and work with us. Developing players is something we are focused on at RCNJ.”

Allen plays for Players Development Academy (PDA) Hibernians at the youth level and was a part of the U-17 team that captured the State Championship in June 2021. Later that fall, Allen put on a show in the Colonial Valley Conference, tallying 19 goals and 13 assists in his senior season. He led an Irish attack that only failed to score once in 2021 all the way to the Non Public A State Championship, where Notre Dame fell short of Christian Brothers Academy. His two footedness, first touch, and innate attacking instinct give opposing defenses a nightmare matchup on any given day.

“Giving talented youth players a chance to train and fight for minutes is a mission of our program,” said men’s general manager Ira Jersey. “As we develop our youth network within Central Jersey and eastern Bucks county we want to give a chance to younger players to experience higher level soccer. We’re excited to have Kyle back in an RCNJ jersey.”

USL League Two is a pre-professional soccer league that allows elite college talent to play at a highly competitive level in the NCAA off-season. League Two is known for giving players a stepping stone to the professional game.

“I’m excited to play in League Two this season,” said Allen.“Growing up I’ve always wanted to be a professional soccer player, and I think RCNJ can help me reach that goal.”

Allen and RCNJ will open the 2022 USL League Two season at Philadelphia Lone Star on May 14th. The men’s will host the Ocean City Nor’Easters on May 21st for its home opener at Mercer County Community college.
