Get REAL with us...

The USL Academy Cup is the first key initiative launched under the USL’s newest tier, the USL Academy.

The USL Academy Cup is designed to bring together top youth prospects from all markets with a USL club. The ultimate goal of this competition is to identify and develop players with the potential to reach the professional level.

Real Central NJ Soccer is fielding a U17 boys team for the USL Academy Cup program. This program operates as a national team, with players remaining with their primary club, but training with other elite youth players in the lead-up to the USL Academy Cup in Tampa, Florida.

Tryouts for this program will occur every autumn for the winter and spring programs. Players showing exceptional talent, drive, leadership, and promise will be asked to join the first team during the summer for additional training and potentially playing time. Our mentality is if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

The USL Academy Team’s Head Coach is typically the assistant coach of the men's USL2 team and is assisted by the men’s General Manager and club founder, Ira Jersey. Ira holds a USSF D license and is a youth coach and USSF Referee.

The club is working with local non-profit organizations and community groups to host free or very low-cost soccer clinics for youth players. These are scheduled by hosting organizations and USSF Licensed coaches are provided by Real Central NJ Soccer.
