REAL CENTRAL NJ SOCCER FACES VENERABLE CLUB OCEAN CITY NOR’EASTERS IN USL LEAGUE TWO DEBUT
Central NJ - Real Central NJ Soccer (RCNJ) will kick off this Wednesday at 7 pm at Mercer County Community College in its first pre-professional match against long-time league standouts, Ocean City Nor’Easters. The new club will debut with a largely local line-up of players, against a Nor’Easter team featuring many international players in both team’s first match in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the national fourth tier of US Soccer, USL League Two.
“We’re in a tough division with teams that bring a lot of talent from all over the world,” said head coach Pat Snyder. “But we’re here to prove that Central Jersey produces great players, and throw in a few internationals who mostly play at Central Jersey colleges, and I think we’ll have a passionate squad that will compete with everyone. It will be a lot of fun for everyone to watch them play, that’s for sure.”
RCNJ will play five matches in May, including four at home. Besides the Nor’Easters, the men’s team will be away at West Chester United in Pennsylvania on May 15th and return home on May 25th and 28th to play Philadelphia Lone Star and West Chester United, respectively. The club’s women’s team kicks off its campaign on May 23rd at 6 pm against NJ Alliance at Mercer County Community College in that team’s competitive debut.
“Both teams will be a thrill to watch,” said Ben Chrnelich, General Manager of the club’s women’s program. “Starting the club from scratch the past year has been exciting and challenging, and we’ve put together a great team of volunteers, interns, technical staff, and, most importantly, players that will result in a great fan experience.”
Tickets of all of the club's matches are available through its website at www.realcentralnj.soccer/tickets.
