(Central Jersey) - Pennington native Dante Bettino has been a central New Jersey soccer mainstay for nearly a decade. This summer he’ll be playing pre-professional soccer with Real Central NJ Soccer (RCNJ), pending league and federation approval.
The club’s men's team will play USL League Two’s Mid-Atlantic Division beginning May 2021. Bettino and his teammates will face the Ocean City Nor’Easters, Philadelphia Lone Star, West Chester United, Reading United, Lehigh Valley United, and Evergreen FC (VA) during the club's first season of play.
Although the club has not played in USL League Two, they formed a squad to play in a fall league for college players whose seasons were canceled due to the pandemic. RCNJ faced off against two like teams formed with the Nor’Easters organization. (For the record, RCNJ were victors in one and drew the other).
“I’m honored to be part of this team,” says Bettino. “Coach Snyder asked me if I was interested in joining the League Two team after I played for him in the fall. I was flattered to be asked and I hope to help the team however I can.”
“Dante is a guy that will do whatever it takes to win a game on the field while also pushing his teammates to the same heights,” says Head Coach Patrick Snyder. “Another CVC (Colonial Valley Conference) guy that will have a great presence in the locker room.”
Bettino started all 18 matches for TCNJ in their 2019 season and received an Honorable Mention All-NJAC team. A defensive-minded player at Hopewell Valley Central High school, he was First Team All-CVC and Third Team All-State. Bettino has said his biggest sports thrill was winning the state sectional title while at Hopewell.
“Dante’s energy and drive to win is fabulous,” said men’s General Manager Ira Jersey. “In our first match as a club back in September 2020, he chased down a ball for 15 yards and slid to make a goal-line clearance to maintain the lead. That is the type of never give up player we love to find.”
“I play with high energy and I like to attack from defensive positions,” Bettino explained. “Soccer is a two-way sport, and I love being on both sides of the ball.”

(Ewing, NJ) - Pennington nativo Dante Bettino ha sido un central New Jersey soccer pilar por un década. Este verano va a jugar pre profesional fútbol con Real Central NJ Soccer (RCNJ).
El club de hombres equipo va a jugar en el USL League Two empezando en Mayo 2021. Bettino y sus compañeros van a jugar Ocean City Nor’Easters, Philadelphia Lone Star, West Chester United, Reading United, Lehigh Valley United, y Evergreen FC (VA) durante la primera temporada de juego del club.

“Me siento honrado de ser parte de este equipo,” dijo Bettino. “El entrenador Snyder me preguntó si estaba interesado en unirme al equipo de la Liga Dos después de jugar para él en el otoño. Me sentí halagado de que me pregunten y espero ayudar al equipo como pueda.”

Bettino empezó todas las 18 juegos para TCNJ en la temporada 2019 y recibió una mención Honorífica en el Equipo All-NJAC. Un jugador con mentalidad defensiva en la Escuela Secundaria Central del Valle de Hopewell, fue primer Equipo All-CVC y Tercer Equipo All-State. Bettino ha dicho que su mayor emoción deportiva fue ganando el título seccional del estado mientras estaba en Hopewell.
“La energía y el impulso de Dante para ganar es fabuloso,” dijo el Gerente General de hombres Ira Jersey. “En nuestro primer partido como un club en septiembre de 2020, persiguió una pelota por 15 yardas, y se deslizó para hacer una línea de gol de distancia para mantener el liderazgo. Ese es el tipo de jugador que nunca nos gusta encontrar.”
“Juego con mucha energía y me gusta atacar desde posiciones defensivas'', dijo Bettino. “El fútbol es un deporte bidireccional, y me encanta estar a ambos lados de la pelota.”
