2021 ASSIST LEADER JUSTIN BRUNOW RETURNS TO RCNJ

La Salle sophomore Justin Brunow is returning to Real Central NJ Soccer for the 2022 season, pending league and federation approval. The 20-year-old appeared in 14 matches for the Explorers in 2021 and tallied one goal and two assists on the season. Brunow led RCNJ with four assists in 2021 in 11 matches played.

“Justin was one of our mainstays last year,” said general manager Ira Jersey. “He’s a fearless player who can create chances out of nothing.”

Brunow played for Hibernian Celtics early in his youth career. He then went to Millstone United and won a state and regional youth championship with the club. He played high school soccer for Steinert where he earned First Team All-CVC, First Team All-Area, and Second Team All-State in his junior and senior seasons. After his senior season, he joined Matchfit Academy.

“I’ve known Justin for a long time,” said head coach Brian Woods. “His personality on and off the field is contagious. With the way he plays, he’ll make everyone around him better.”

USL League Two is a pre-professional soccer league that allows elite college talent to play at a highly competitive level in the NCAA off-season. League Two is known for giving players a stepping stone to the professional game.

“Soccer wasn’t my main sport until I got to high school,” said Brunow. “As the years have gone by and seeing different levels, going professional is something that I would love to do.”

Brunow and RCNJ will open the 2022 USL League Two season at Philadelphia Lone Star on May 14th. The men will host the Ocean City Nor’Easters on May 21st for its home opener at Mercer County Community College.
