REAL CENTRAL NJ SOCCER ANNOUNCES 2022 MEN’S USL2 SEASON SCHEDULE

Updated: Jan 28, 2022

Real Central New Jersey Soccer announced its schedule for its second USL League 2 season. The 2022 schedule features seven home games that will be played at Mercer County Community College.

RCNJ will open the 2022 campaign on the road at Philadelphia Lone Star FC on Saturday, May 14. The second-year club will host its home opener on Saturday, May 21, against in-state rivals Ocean City Nor’easters. West Chester United SC, the 2021 Mid-Atlantic Division champions, will come to Mercer County on Saturday, June 14. Both Ocean City and West Chester represented the Mid-Atlantic Division in the 2021 USL2 Playoffs.

“The coaching staff is excited about this season and the challenges of playing in the Mid-Atlantic division of USL2,” said men’s Head Coach Brian Woods. “It’s our first year as a staff in this league, but we’ll give it our all. The reputations of the opposing coaches, players, and teams precede them and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”

RCNJ will face Reading United AC in their final home match on Wednesday, June 29, before ending the season with a three-game away stretch against Ocean City (July 1), Reading (July 9), and Lehigh Valley United (July 13). The club will begin announcing players in February, with both new and returning players already committed to playing for the upcoming season.

“We have a season under our belt and want to build on our great fan support this year,” said men’s General Manager Ira Jersey. “We have wonderful returning and new corporate sponsors, plus have a number of great activities for groups to participate in at our games. It will be an exciting season for fans, players, and sponsors.”

USL League Two is a pre-professional soccer league that allows elite college talent to play at a highly competitive level in the NCAA off-season. League Two is the highest level of pre-professional soccer in the US and part of the fourth tier of US soccer. RCNJ plays in the Mid-Atlantic Division consisting of 6 teams. The team finishing first will qualify for a spot in USL2 Playoffs, and the team finishing second will advance to the playoffs if its point total is higher than the second place team in the league’s Chesapeake Division.
