WEST WINDSOR, NJ – Real Central NJ opened its The League for Clubs season with a 3-0 loss at home to Kingston Stockade FC on Saturday night. Kingston Stockade FC scored all three of its goals in the first half.
The first 15 minutes were tight, with possession slightly favoring Kingston Stockade FC. But Real Central NJ had a good chance to score when a header by Ilia Sakheishvili missed the mark in the 16th minute.
The home side had another good chance in the 19th minute when a strong shot from just outside the 18-yard box by Daniil Kaban sailed high.
In the 22nd minute, Kingston Stockade FC broke through with a goal by Jonathan Salguero to make it 1-0. The play was set up with a beautiful assist by Davis Barnes.
Real Central NJ got more bad news in the 28th minute when team captain Sean Milelli went down to the ground for a second time with an injury. After the game, Milellii said he was fine and expected to play in the next game.
Milelli was replaced by Bryan Sanchez and the captain’s armband was passed to Daniil Kaban for the rest of the match.
Salguero had an appetizing opportunity for a second goal in the 26th minute. But a fine save by Real Central NJ goalkeeper Eric Wnorowski kept the score at 1-0.
Wnorowski, who had a solid game overall, also made a penalty save during the stoppage time in the first half.
Things really went pear-shaped for Real Central NJ near the end of the first half. It was 2-0 after Davis Barnes scored in the 42nd minute with a shot on the deck.
Then in stoppage time, Jason Zulauf scored to make it 3-0 Kingston Stockade. Both late-half goals resulted from turnovers by Real Central NJ.
The second half was played even with no goals scored by either club. Kingston Stockade FC controlled possession early in the half.
But Real Central NJ finished the game well by controlling possession for much of the last 15 minutes. They had plenty of chances but were unable to convert any into goals to start their 2026 season.
Man of the match for Real Central NJ was Nathan Linden. The midfielder did a stellar job of maintaining possession through a crowded middle of the park.
