ABOUT THE ROLE

Our start-up pre-professional soccer team is seeking a volunteer matchday Public Address (PA) announcer/Disc Jockey for our 11 home games at Mercer County Community College and other events during the summer. PA/DJ will also be responsible for playing pre-selected music, doing ad reads, and announcing various league and club items when appropriate during matches.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn to pronounce player names

  • Read starting line-ups and other scripts pre-game, at halftime, and post-match

  • Liaise with public relations intern and club senior staff for special acknowledgements (groups, gameday sponsors, etc)

  • Announce goal scores and assists and substitutes for both home and away teams

  • Play music as appropriate pre-match, at halftime, and after RCNJ goals

  • Review players' song selections, club favorites, and other songs for brand alignment and "family friendly" environment

  • Curate and assemble playlists for before the match, halftime, and after the match

  • Be available for all home matches, on-site at the events; work with the CMO, other media staff members, and vendors/associates in real-time, in the press box, to play music for guests

  • Must have a phone, tablet, computer, or other DJ equipment with mini headphone port and the ability to run Spotify (an account will be provided if you don't have one); bluetooth connection is not available at the venue

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Great PA voice with ability to spur excitement

  • Ability to annunciate RCNJ player names properly

  • Availability to attend all 11 RCNJ first team home matches

  • A love of soccer and sport is not required but helpful, as is an appreciation for many styles of music
