HOST A PLAYER

Get on our team

IN SEARCH OF HOST FAMILIES

The RCNJ Men’s Soccer Team welcomes open tryouts and targeted recruitment of US university soccer players.   As some players come from outside New Jersey and even from other countries, we are looking for Host Families to house a player, aged between 18-23, during our Summer season. You’ll be supporting RCNJ’s effort to build a high-level pre-professional soccer team, right here, in Mercer County; and supporting a college-age student to remain fit for their college season.

Applications are due November 5. Provide your contact information and express your interest in becoming a host family. Be sure to read the host guidelines.

"Staying with an American family during my season with RCNJ was a nice change of pace from the dorms and being away from my own family in Australia.  The family, who were big soccer fans, provided me with my own space but also included me in some family outings making it easy to feel welcomed."

WHY HOST AN RCNJ PLAYER?

Welcoming an RCNJ soccer player into your home allows a new experience for your family and the player.  A majority of RCNJ players are from Mercer County and surrounding areas, but a select few are from elsewhere.  Since soccer is the world’s sport, we attract players from other countries who play at US universities.

BENEFITS OF HOSTING AN RCNJ PLAYER

  • If you are a soccer fan, you can talk about soccer with a college-aged player many of whom have professional aspirations

  • If you have high school students, they can learn what college life is like by connecting with the player

  • If you have younger children, you can inspire them and foster their dreams and broaden their vision

  • All types of families can offer a positive and worthwhile host experience for all involved

  • Make an impact on your family and the player

  • Build a life-long friendship for your family

  • Introduce your family to another culture, if the player is from another country

  • Share in the exchange of experiences with the player

  • Contribute to the success of your RCNJ community
